There are some great Black-Owned Businesses in Rochester, Buffalo, and Beyond that are 100% vegan or offer vegan options. Here are a few!

Whether you’re a longtime vegan, just exploring plant-based options, or simply looking to support Black entrepreneurs, this guide highlights a few of the incredible Black-owned restaurants, bakeries, and businesses that are 100% vegan or have vegan options, as well as a a non-profit that is making an impact in Rochester and beyond. 

These businesses are not only serving up delicious and nourishing meals but also creating spaces for community, empowerment, and change. Let’s celebrate and support these businesses not only now during Black History Month, but throughout the year!

Black, Brown and Diverse Plant Based People for Equity Inc. 

Lastly, the Black, Brown, and Diverse Plant-Based People for Equity Inc. (or BBDPPE) is a local non-profit “dedicated to providing health and wellness education to underprivileged and underserved minority communities in both urban and rural areas. Their mission is to create equitable life circumstances for individuals and residents in these areas through plant-based food, education and support.

The service area of Black, Brown, and Diverse Plant-Based People for Equity Inc. is defined as follows: This organization has been formed for the charitable purpose of providing health and wellness education, through activities such as establishing a mobile plant-based food pantry and/or conducting free plant-based food pop-up events, for underprivileged and underserved minority communities in both urban and rural areas, starting in New York, then ultimately continuing nationally.” (via BBDPPE website).
