What is Homechow?

Homechow is a foodservice company here in Rochester “Bridging the gap of quality, affordability, and accessibility. Hot meal-packs everyone can easily find and enjoy” (via Homechow website).
Recently, MetroPops was invited to attend a behind-the-scenes look at the operations of Homechow, located right inside Sweet Pea Plant-Based Kitchen, where their very first open-to-the-public kiosk just launched.

This innovative, refrigerated kiosk offers a convenient and delicious way to grab a quick meal on the go, with a variety of options to suit different tastes. Best of all, one of the meals will always be vegan, ensuring plant-based eaters have a tasty option at hand.
The very first Homechow kiosk, now LIVE and located at Sweet Pea Plant-Based Kitchen, is stocked with chef made meals, Monday-Saturday from 11am-6pm and on Sundays from 11am-2pm. The meals are cooked right on-site in Sweet Pea’s kitchen, so you know they’ll be fresh.
The ordering process is simple and quick: once you make your selection from the touch-screen, the meal is transported via conveyor belts to a heating unit, and in just about a minute, you’re treated to a piping hot, freshly prepared meal.
Rotating Meal Options

Vegan Soba Noodles

Cauliflower Tikka Masala
The meal options including the vegan ones, are priced between $12-$15 and will rotate regularly. We recently got to try a delicious soba noodle stir fry and cauliflower tikka masala, and we’re excited to see what other dishes will be added to the mix. Rumor has it that Sweet Pea will be adding Dan Dan Noodles to the lineup soon, if they have not done so already.
The Team at Homechow

The Homechow Team is looking to revolutionize on-the-go dining with its patented hot food kiosks.
Founder Gabriel Ankamafio’s journey started back in Ghana, where he aimed to make life easier by offering ready-to-eat meals. Fast forward to today, well over 50 businesses across Monroe County (and beyond) count on Homechow to feed thousands of employees. And if you want to own your own kiosk to place at your business, you can do that too! Just check out the website for more info.

Next up will be the launch of a mobile app, which will let you check what meals are available in the kiosk ahead of time and even reserve your meal so it’s still available when you arrive. Stay tuned for the app launch.
So the next time you’re craving something hot & fresh, definitely stop by the Homechow kiosk at Sweet Pea Plant-Based Kitchen.
