What's Happening This Fall
Hands down, fall is our most favorite time of the year. The cooler weather settles in, the leaves start to change, and everyone from the kids to the adults are settled in to their normal daily activities after all the summer fun.
But while the weather gets a little cooler, things are heating up when it comes to events in and around our area. Here are some of the most exciting events coming up this fall that we’re looking forward to and that you’ll want to get on your calendar.
October 15: Greentopia EcoFest
Don’t miss Greentopia’s EcoFest 2023 at the Rochester Public Market on October 15th.
This event will feature eco-friendly and focused vendors, non-profits, businesses, and more to show how you can live your life more sustainably. Celebrate with live music, food, and fun that highlights living a green life in Rochester, and while you’re there, make sure to check out The Yards’ Clothing and Art Supply Swap.
October 15: Cow Fest
Cow Fest is a fun, family event at Asha Farm Sanctuary. Celebrate Albert the Super Cow’s birthday along with hayrides & pumpkin patch, live bagpiper and fiddler, dancing witches, food, apple cider, cold beverages, vendors, exhibitors, pumpkin painting, crafts. Details.
Asha Farm Sanctuary is located north of Lockport.
October 29: The Great Vegan Mac and Cheez Cook-off
This one’s in Buffalo, and the Bills will have played on Thursday a couple of days prior. Be a judge, be a contestant, or just come to sample many delicious all-vegan mac n’ cheez recipes.

Sept. 12-23: Rochester Fringe Festival
Rochester Fringe Festival is celebrating its 12th year in the Rochester area, drawing more than 650,000 visitors from all over the world to more than 4500 diverse acts and performances. Many of the shows are FREE, including access to popular movies shown in the popular Spiegelgarden, Fringe Street Beat on the final day, and of course, the Fringe headliners show Cirque Inextremiste: EXIT.
There are always plenty of food and drink options available at Fringe, and many of these include vegan options.

Sept. 20 & 21: Vegan Comfort Food Pop-Ups @Fairport Brewing (different locations!)
If vegan junk food is your thing, including burgers, fries, and vegan wingz, Fairport Brewing has two back-to-back special events happening on Wednesday September 20 and Thursday the 21st.
Wednesday’s event will feature the popular California based Vuture Food Vegan from 4p-8p at Fairport Brewing’s University location, and Thursday’s event at the Fairport location will welcome Southern Fried Vegan, another California company based out of LA.
We recommend getting there early and expect a wait time as their popularity always precedes their arrival.

Sept. 22-23: Celebrate The Red Fern's 10th Birthday!
Come celebrate The Red Fern’s 10th Birthday on Friday September 22nd and Saturday the 23rd with delicious specials offered each day.
Located in one of the city’s most popular neighborhoods, Park Ave, you’ll be able to enjoy seating indoors or outdoors and help Andrea and Team celebrate a decade in business. You’ll find plenty of people out and about on Park Ave, so get out and enjoy while the weather is still beautiful enough for walking and people watching.

Sept. 23: Syracuse Vegfest
Syracuse Vegfest is happening this year at a new location, Inner Harbor, on Saturday, September 23rd from 12noon to 6pm.

October 7: Fall at the Farm Festival
Also happening on October 7th – Mockingbird Farm Sanctuary’s 2nd Annual Fall at the Farm Festival.
This is a family-friendly event that includes a pumpkin patch, games, raffles, face painting, food, walking tours of the sanctuary, and much more. There is a suggested donation of $10 at the door which will go towards their fundraising goal of $15,000 to help stock the barn with winter hay.

Oct. 7 & 8: Bristol Mountain Fall Festival
A family-friendly event where you can view the changing leaves from high above at Bristol Mountain during their annual Fall Festival in early October. Fall sky rides, food trucks, music, and much more to keep you entertained and enjoying the sights and sounds of the fall.

October 11: Vegan City Walk
City Walk is a “walking happy hour” that typically visits 3 locations in a neighborhood each month with food samples and drink specials. For this special dedicated vegan walk, the restaurants will only be showcasing their vegan options! Details on the Event page.
